Not said often enough, but Thank You to the moderators here. I know you all spend a lot of time in the background working on "stuff" and you do a great job keeping things on track and enjoyable. Things get pretty heavy handed with moderation on other forums but here on RugerForum seems to be the right mix of free speech with the moderation when needed.

Thank You!

I can't really do a true critique now since this is the only forum I go to. But yes, when I was on other forums I noticed that moderators usually had what I call the hall monitor syndrome... they spend their time looking for someone to slap and call out at the slightest hint of an infraction of the rules or even make new rules if they don't like what someone says. It seems those in charge here are better at judging the climate. Thank you.

Do you not participate in the Sig Forum anymore?

I whole-heartily agree with the OP. I've been around here quite a while. I'm also a member of a few other Forums. But many forums I've seen discussed here apparently are not worth my time because of what others have mentioned about how moderators or owners treat their guests. I'm not saying some of them deserve what they get,, but overall,, this place, (as a couple of others,) are quite nice & what I consider true social media.

When FlatGate was alive & owned this place,, he casually & quietly set the tone & some standards. Many of the regular members helped him by often making a post to try & get a member to step back a bit & re-think their attitude or posts. Most often,, that worked. But heavy handed actions weren't often necessary,, but when done,, were usually warranted.

By being courteous, respectful, and not hiding behind a keyboard is a quality many here have. The types that want to stir up stuff, or act like trolls etc aren't allowed to be that way too easily.

But the mods here,, they do a great job,, and I know that it's a volunteer position. For that,, I truly appreciate & respect those folks greatly!

Let me admit, I mispoke once about Hittman saying something about people not doing their own research. I spouted off, in my 'great wisdom',
and immediately regretted it. He never said anything but it stung me badly as I thought it over. Hittman, I want to apologize for that, and I want to thank everyone who spends their own time to make this site better. We don't have to agree on everything to learn and share, but the learning and sharing tends to open my eyes as I read more here. Hope it does the same for everyone else here. Appreciate the patience and the wisdom that I've found here.

 Wanderlust you gotta let that stuff go. LOL ~ life's short and as God is my witness I have NO idea or memory of whatever it was that happened.

Rest assured there's written proof right here of "regrettable" things I have posted!

This is a good forum. Knowledgeable and friendly members, and a great place to hang out. I also appreciate the moderators, not something I would want to do myself. I have had to say "I'm sorry" a couple of times on other forums. Sometimes you blurt something out and then realize later that wasn't the best thing to say. o_O

Gotta say, moderators here are good by me. On the .net Ruger forum, my IP address set off their warnings one day (had just started using a VPN) and they banned me. Ignored me when I reached out about it, which made it not bother me as much, getting banned and all. Felt it wasn't worth pursuing further.
Another forum I'm on also banned me for the same reason one day, but quickly corrected it when I reached out.

I'll join the conversation, Bravo Zulu to the crew keeping this site a much more enjoyable one than most out there, sincerely, Thanks

Hittman,
Many thanks. Words fail me sometimes and this is one of those times.
To everyone else, I appreciate the friends I've found and the fun times I've shared here.
I have learned more about Rugers, tricks of the trade and mant other interesting things here regularly.
We don't seem to say thanks sometimes until it's too late.
For everyone that has taught me and entertained me so far, my very deep gratitude.
