Hey, check out this page on Ruger's website.

http://ruger.com/Firearms/PS-SNH-RI-96-22.html

So Ruger is still making the 96/22 and/or 96/17? Its not cataloged this year and I thought they were discontinued a couple years ago. So what gives? Are they being sold overseas?
Or is Ruger still shipping the remnants of what they had in stock?

I've seen some for sale at big chain stores, I doubt they are old stock, but could be filtering in from distributors. I know where a few are that are old stock.

Just seems funny that if they are discontinued, not listed in their current catalog and not listed on their website, that Ruger would show production continuing into this year. Makes me wonder if maybe the Brits are getting them in to circumvent their semi auto laws.
You know, that's how Ruger's Model 96 action came into being anyway. WBR thought ahead a little and wondered if somehow the 10/22 might wind up on the gov'ts list of "banned" firearms. So he built a lever action gun that used the principle of the 10/22 magazine.
