I'm gonna try reloading for this little squirt.. never had a bottom feeder
before but I'll give it a try. I picked up some 90g XTP's in the .355" but
don't have the Hornaday book... Can someone check the mim OAL for
this bullet and the max load with W-231 or Universal.

I have the Lyman, Lee and Speer and I see a lot of max load differences
with this caliber .. I assume its due to the short case length and seating
depth would make a big difference.

Thanks, FrontSite

This load data is out of my Lee die set, and it has a section just for 90 gr. XTP. It lists Power Pistol as the top performer using Start grains of 3.3 grs. to Never exceed of 4.8 grs. Giving 1105 fps. velocity. It shows the Min. OAL as 0.960 of an inch. In comparision the top load given for general 90 gr. jacketed bullets is 6.0 grs. of BlueDot giving a 980 fps. velocity. As for the powders you have requested, I see no data for either unless you were using 95 gr. jacketed bullets. Then it lists WIN 231 using 3.2 grains, but it is the bottom performer, giving 860 fps. velocity. Hope this helps. LM

frontsite,
Sounds like you have gotten great advice on the bullets...just a question...have you considered using a lead bullet? I have found my .380s love 'em and they save a bunch!

I moved away from the HPs after reading so much about HPs lack of expansion (.380s are pretty slow velocity guns)...I'm now reloading ball or LRN...my carry is American Eagle RN/Ball.

marlin1881,
I've go no complains with the MO Bullets you linked...however, if I had it to do over, I'd get these in a different diameter...they swell the cases a bit as they are really over-sized for the caliber.

Penn Bullet makes a .355 diameter (their standard) and I think I'd prefer the smaller diameter bullets as I expect they would fit better.

No failures to fire/feed with the MO Bullets you referenced (Kel-Tec P3-AT, CZ-83, Llama .380).

If MO Bullet will size down, I'll buy these from them again...I have not asked Brad if can size down...he may just do it.

BTW...3grs of W-231 makes the sweetest range fodder you can imagine.

My experience with the 380 and 231 powder:
88 gr Speer JHP, OAL of .952 3.3 gr 231 = 855 fps, 3.7 gr 231 = 1000 fps
This load is accurate @ 25 yd from my BDA. Start low and work up for your gun.

VonFatman,, Actually all I shoot is lead in my other calibers but I bought
this LCP strictly for carry and I just wanted to run a bunch through it to
check it out. I did get the XTP's for a great price 8) If I like it I will move
to lead and I'm a big fan of Penn Bullets, I use a lot of them in my 32's
and 45's.

Just not sure I want to shoot this little thing that much .. now if I had that
CZ-83 of yours ... well that would be a different story !

I am going to try some of MO's 32 cal bullets ... great price !

FrontSite, I'd like to know where you got those Hornady 90 gr. XTP bullets, as I put in a special order with Scheels and ended up canceling it because after telling me it would take about a week and then after 6 weeks I got pi$$ed, so I requested my money back. I've just aquired 500 Cor-Bon .380 brass and want to make up some loads using those XTP's. LM
