I sold mine when newly married, poor and needed the $150.
Replaced it several years ago through a member right here on this forum but it's a F/C.
That don't matter much to me …. They're beautiful guns.

W a a a a y back... I used to shoot a lot of trap. An 870 TB was my first dedicated trap gun. It worked well for me. Thru the years, I upgraded to many other higher-end trap guns. Bottom line, none of them really shot any better than my first 870.

I saw my first trap fields about twenty years ago while taking my daughter for archery practice across the parking lot. It looked like fun, so I went and bought an 870 express on sale. I never owned or shot a shotgun before. It was not a trap model, but something to let me try the sport. Since then I have probably put thousands of rounds through it. I keep saying that I am going to buy a trap gun, but I haven't done it yet. It isn't a pretty Wingmaster, but it seems to just work.

Beautiful gun! We did the same thing last year for our son. He shoots high school trap and we dug up a beautiful old Browning BPS. He loves it. I'm sure your son will cherish the 870.

During the 30 some years that I spent shooting trap I owned many shotguns, including several Remington 870 shotguns. A few TB's, and a Competition model. The Competition was really nice, back bored and recoil reduction system, just required a little extra effort in cleaning. I always wanted an older 870 TC with really nice wood but never wound up with one. I was my own worst enemy in always trading guns. I remember winning first place trophy at our local Izaak Walton League with my Competition, very unusual for me, and I had that gun traded off within a month after that.
