I am starting a rifle build with a 77 MKII SA as a base and the first thing I plan on doing is a trigger replacement. So my question is what trigger is the best to work with as far as ease of installation and adjustment. pros and cons of each will greatly help.

Thanks LM

I put a timney in mine. Very easy to install. Very simple adjustment. Only slightly difficult part is fitting the safety. You need to file the trigger were the safety makes contact until the safety functions properly. Just go slow the metal is mild steel so it is not much work with a file. Adjustment is very simple with an allen wrench. Loctite the heads once your happy with adjustments. I don't have experience with other brands in the model 77 anyways. I have also used rifle basix triggers in other guns. They are nice as well but I have encountered some that are hard or impossible to get the creep out of.I went with the timney for the 77 as it was the least expensive at the time. For me there are no negatives with any timney I have ever used in any gun.

Leon Mark, Welcome to the forum! I have used Timney custom triggers for a lot of years now in rifle work for the listed reasons above and although there are other good brands, Canjar, Basix, Spec-Tech, etc. come to mind, Timney's are easy to install and adjust and in many applications, drop right in. As mike7mm08 indicated, a slight adjustment may be needed for proper "safety" operation. Timney has been in business for a long time and have got the "bugs" worked out in their triggers. That's why I recommend Timney!.....................................Dick
