I'm thinking of buying one of these rifles to replace a 6.5 Rem Mag. Does anybody have any hands on with this rifle, so I can get an idea of what to expect? It's pretty much a given that the trigger is going to suck, like most rugers do, but that's an easy remedy. I'm wondering more about how the rifle feels, handles, and shoots. thanks

Can't comment on the 264 caliber, but can comment on the Hawkeyes as I bought 4 of them last year. All of them had much improved triggers compared to the older 77s. That LC6 trigger makes a big difference.

Great rifle, easy handling, very accurate. My 35 Whelen and 358 Win Hawkeyes will group an inch or less, if I do my part.

Just my $0.02

And...Ruger may change their thinking on this, but the .264 was offered for only one year in a Hawkeye.

They have a dist . ex. listed. cat.#HM77RTBZ. It has a thumbhole lam. stock. The dist. is Jerry's Sport Center. I have one ,but have not shot it yet. Would be nice to know how many Ruger will make. :)
