Just putting one together now. I had an old Leupold VXII 1-4X for it, and I swapped the factory sear & spring for Volquartsen. (Same parts for 77/22 fit 77/44 as well.) Trigger pull is now 2 lbs with just a little creep.

Initial range results showed around 1" at 50 yds. Hopefully this rifle will do 2" at 100 yds when I take a decent rest and try it out at a 100 yd range.

Rifle is very light. Seems to "point" well, kind of like a light shotgun.

The only problem I noticed so far (other than the factory trigger), was a slight burr on the R extractor. I removed that and feeding is a lot smoother now.

Here is the required "rifle on gray carpet" photo -

When the weather settles down here, I'll get some range time in with it.

I have a new one that looks like all the others. I haven't found a good lead (.431) load yet. The plated bullets (.429) shoot better, and the jacketed bullets (.430) shoot the best. I ran out of jacketed but they started to group @ 100 quite well. on my next order I'm going to get 180, 200, 240, and 300g. If I find something especially accurate I'll post it. The bore size is a solid .430 to .4303. Most 44 bullets are .429 but Hornady and Remington both make .430's.
