Looking to pickup a 77/357 to compliment my Blackhawk and SP101 and noticed some on line under model number 7414 with what appears to be a blued barrel and SS bolt.

Ruger's site only lists an all SS model designated as model # 7405.

Anyone shed some light on this? Is the 7414 model discontinued?

I like the 7405 with all SS but is it worth the extra $100-150?

Thanks.

I think the blued models were a distributor model (for Davidsons IIRC), rather than a general catalog model.

I just purchased the blue model kinda accidentally on my first Gun Broker purchase. I had heard about the blue version but forgot all about it; I just thought the buy now price was pretty good ($555.00?). My mistake was revealed after a pregnant pause in the conversation with dealer afterwards. Doh! However, it is +\- $100 less than the SS versions listed and is supposed to be easier to fire lap which I will probably do for cast bullet use which is the intended diet.
The dealer, Tommy's Gun in MO, has more and told me he had bought out the remaining Davidson's inventory of this model. Said the run was 200 or 250.
I am waiting for the Great Brown Truck of Happiness to arrive at the local FFL.

Tommys runs some good deals on various guns.

I would assume it shoots the same as the all SS version.

$100-150 savings nothing to sneeze at.

Enjoy!

Don't think they have a web site but they are on Facebook.

List a lot on Gunbroker with good reviews. Prices on the guns I've looked at were about right.
