The last 77/22 I bought was more than 15 years ago. Most scopes would not clear the bolt handle without wiggling the bolt to the right as it was pulled back. The only one I found that would clear it completely was a Leupold 4X rimfire compact. Now I see a lot of 77/22 pics with pretty big scopes that all look bigger than the ones I couldn't get to work. Is it possible late model 77/22's have had the bolt shape/length changed? Can a few of you post what scopes you use that do completely clear the bolt? If possible, I would also like to know the OD of the ocular end.

No doubt. I should have noted I prefer to use low or medium rings and a modest power scope.

I don't have any problem with this scope, and the factory rings that came with the rifle.
