I have a 77/17 with a walnut stock and a 77/22 with a walnut stock. Are these stocks interchangeable? I would appreciate any information.

Thanks.

If they are both Magnums (.17 HMR / .22 WMR), or both non-magnums (.17 HM2 / .22 LR) then yes, they are interchangeable.

I am not 100% sure but I don't think they have to be the same as 22mag and 17hmr or 22lr and 17mach2. I think the bottom metal is what changes the length of the mag well for either 22mag or 22lr. So this being said you should be able to change them as long as you change the bottom metal as well.

Yes that. The stock is the same for all 4 cartridges.

Thanks to all who replyed to my question on the interchangeability of walnut stocks on the 77/22lr and the 77/17hmr. I will remove the actions and hope I don't run into any serious problems.

Thanks again.
