I have a flat bolt and a couple of other 77s plus 4 #1s in 6mm Remington.

I shot only my handloads and can't help as I haven't purchased and factory ammo in the last 30 years or so. I can say that the 6mm Rem is a great cartridge in the dual purpose vien deer/varmints.

6mm--a great caliber; a .243 on steroids. It's about 200fps faster. Use a heavily constructed bullet. What works in a .243 works in a 6mm. I use 100gr Nosler Partitions handload in my .243. Barnes solid copper will do you well. Don't reload? Shop for a commercially loaded bulet with a Nosler Partition or a Barnes solid copper. Enjoy! Go heavy in the bullet dept. and I doubt you'll be disappointed on MS deer. Others have disagreed...

My brother has a 1V in 6mm and it is a real shooter. Try some of the regular Federal power shok ammo and see how that works for you. Remington also shoots well. No winchester experience in that rifle. As with the 243 stick w 100gr -105 gr ammo for deer and your well set.
