I have a NIB 50th Anniversary 44 Mag. I've never shot it.
What do you think on value? I'm considering taking it to the next OGCA (Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc.).

You may be better trying to find a matching number for an original model and matching the "pair" up, get the two "together" we've never had good luck with the anniversary models at any given show here in Ohio, and these days we even 'pass'; on them when they bring them to us, try the finished auctions of any of the on line gun auctions/sellers sites,,,see them all over the place....many of the guys I know today use them, as shooters, for the prices they paid for them...last ones I bought were when CDNN had the "pair" matching numbers 357/44 mags and in a glass presentation case for under $1000.........still see the empty cases for sale time to time...heck we even did a 50th Anniversary display in Tulsa back then, the year before the 44 mag came out, and then the Bearcat 2 years later, BUT little and no response, so gave it up, sold them all off ....good luck..........;)

The sad part about the 50th 44 flattops is,,, IMO one of the best out of the factory quality produced guns,,, But the little Steel XR3 Grip Frame with its cheese grater grips are just too small for the gun. Thus The 44 has never really caught on.
Then the CDNN blowout really gutted the market.

NIB, $600 today but it needs a individual that needs a small Grip Frame.
,,, $600 because your not buying any NIB Blackhawk for less than $600 these days. Inflation.

I tried a bunch of different grip combos but never could warm up the to XR3.
SO
A RW Brass Hunter Grip Frame w/ Grey Laminate Grips, Super Blackhawk Hammer.making it a Super Gun, way easier to hang on too, wild to mild.

Top gun is 1958 OM (708X) ,,, Bottom gun is the 2008 NM (870-0383X) 4 dgt.,,, 50 years later.

FWIW: The New Model Top Strap is thicker than the original OM.

My guess was at least $600. I go to a lot of gun shows, including most OGCA's. I haven't seen a used NM 44 mag Super Blackhawk for less than $650 lately.

GunBroker completed auctions show 1 sold recently for $445. Another has been listed 3 or 4 times and no bids at $500.

The 357s bringing $405 to $480.
The 22s brought $400 and $430.

the Supers are a different gun
The 50th Anniversary's flattop smaller grip frame fits me to a tee (changed grip panels of course as I don't like plastic cheese graters). Note that the cylinder frame is same a SBH (except it has a flattop). And it is a steel grip frame and ejector housing... just like the SBH. So really not a 'different gun' -- just a different grip frame 'style' and hammer. Also has the reverse indexing pawl which is nice.

I wouldn't sale my 50th for under $600 probably $800 or so. It is my goto revolver when in the mood to shoot the .44 Magnum cartridge. I really like it. I am thinking about selling my stainless SBH as I just don't use it any more. At the gun show this last weekend new guns are pushing $1000. Even some used guns. I saw a used standard blued Ruger OA for ~$900 .... Sheesh.

I bought one new for ~$600 two years ago and at the time it was about what a new Taurus 44 would cost me; now a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 msrp is over 1k!

After about 350 rounds, no problems it performs great, you'd have to spend a lot of ammo/money/time wearing one out .

My only issue was finding different grips (the standared plastic ones are pretty lame), dunno if anyone makes aftermarket grips designed for it anymore (if anyone ever did). I ended up fititng some old model blackhawk grips on mine.

Grips for your gun are super common …. This link explains many of the different Ruger grip frames.

My game plan is to take it to the next Ohio Gun Collector Assoc. meeting and sell it.. Looking for $700.

I remember the matching pair in the wood display boxes for less than $1000 new. Didn't get one because of the tiny gripframes. Now we have Ronnie Wells and I am ending up with his frames on about all my Rugers, I would consider adding the large frames to my meager rotation.

Mine is still NIB and the smaller grip frame fits me to a T. I've got a few NIB handguns in my safe that I intend to break in because I'm not getting any younger. I may very well have too many handguns but I'd never admit it. I've only ever let one go and that was a trade for a new kit gun I couldn't live without…

Most gun prices have dropped a good bit over the last several months. I have the 50th Anniversary matched set with presentation case, brand new and never fired, myself, and the cylinders have never been turned. In that condition I would *probably* turn loose of everything for $1500 but am not sure if the market is there at the moment.
