How rare or unusual are these?
Were they carried by Canadian RCMP ["Mounties"]..?
Was or is Davidson's the exclusive purveyor?

They were NOT RCMP guns.
Ruger has failed to get any RCMP contracts. They tried in the early '80s with a special 5" .38spl Service Six but failed to win the contract.
Some fixed sight GP100s appear to have been used by some Canadian municpal police departmemts.

whoo hoo! I picked up the 5" GP100!

The single-action trigger is smooth and light without and creep or drama, and the DA stages as good as any S&W or Colt i've ever shot.. I'm quite pleased overall except for the rough finish. It looks like it might be a "friday" manufactured gun, or was buffed-out by a rookie. I think some 0000 steel wool should remedy that

I wonder if Wolf springs would make it shoot even better..? Should i spend the time and money?
