480 Ruger

Getting a 480 Ruger Super Redhawk. A while back some weighed in on the 480r vs 454c. One point was about shooting 45c in the 454 or downloaded 480r loads. Please let me know your favorite lesser loads for the 480r as I will be looking for some to shoot besides the full house factory ammo. Also, a favorite white tail load too.

A jacketed 325 bullet with 19.9 gr. of H110 gets you around 1010fps.
The 480R should never be downloaded below minimums found in a good recent manual.

I cast my own slugs for my 480. I have found good moderate loads for mine. I prefer to stick with the heavier bullets, (400 grn or so,) and work up a load that matches my gun for accuracy.

The 480 recoil is going to be different than anything you have e experienced it is not painful at all the muzzle blast won't blow you away like the 454. Finding a comfortable load isn't hard. Like contender I cast my own my favorite is a 425gr
