So, last year I picked up a FA model 83 at a auction. Nobody had components but I was able to pick up this Ruger 454 with dies, brass and bullets. This are very nice guns, anyone have any loads that they like a lot? I did pick up some PENN bullets that I still have in 255gr and 340gr but recently found out Bob passed away.

I'm no help with loading info. My 454 only gets my cast & PCed slugs.
I vaguely recall a conversation with Bob (Baker) years ago telling me he favored the 360gr cast bullet in the 454. Personally, I stayed on the 300gr hard cast.
I have used and hunted with a FA83, .454 for 38 years. So incredibly accurate. With Sierra and Swift 300 grain bullets, they will stack on a quarter at 50 yards. I use 26.0 grains of 2400 for around 1450-1600FPS depending on your barrel length. ( 20.0 of 2400 for a mild 45 Colt load ) I would ( and have ) hunted everything in the world with it.
