45 Colt

Help Support Ruger Forum:

It's funny you say that….since I reload
I'll maybe call it the .452Colt, lol, or
45-6Colt (45 caliber and 6grs of Alliant
Red Dot) like some of the old designations.
lol…what a hurt feelings World we live in
now.

So when I'm talking about 45 Colt and people reply back with 45 ACP its all good? If I say 45 Long Colt every one knows exactly what I am referring to, even the Karrens that do not like the terminology get it.
Curious if this confusion has ever personally affected you? Caused someone close to you to think or purchase the wrong thing? (If so, you may be entitled to compensation!)

Realistically, the only groups that would regularly have this language precision problem are 1911 purists (Colt fans) and malt beverage enthusiasts. New firearms folks aren't guaranteed to know enough even with the ACP vs LC designation.

EX: There is some poor soul on a local sales board trying to sell or trade an overpriced box of .357 SIG for .357 MAGNUM. One would have to be truly uninitiated to think that those would interchange, or that .45 Colt/ACP are compatible.

I believe you may have a complex...and if so, at least it shows you are self aware of your issues.

One (01) line mentioned post #93 regarding excessive words. The rest was completely unrelated to post #93. But you do you, as you must believe the world revolves around you and your "knowledge" that you spew out for no apparent reason. Get a pet if you need love and attention instead of boring folks on a forum.
Mean while me on the other hand, just so you know, I had directed every word upon post #99 and #105 right @ the Troll (a.k.a. - you). By the way who needs a pet when they have a Troll, right? Life couldn't be any better. Oh by the way now it is your nose that is growing! What's with all that denial. Talk about issues. Yet, I do feel you're not aware of yourself absorb allusions, as you seem to actually be guided by your diatribes. Which begs the question, you revealing in another drunken stoop-per [again]? You really ought to seek some professional help you know. Or perhaps you don't do you? The saying rings true once again, that they are always the last to know.

FYI, for the record - the only self proclaimed thing I identify as being is a phycologist. And I would like to take this moment to thank you very much for all the opportunities you offer up for me to get in so much practice at this. Although I do not see it helping you get well, I do enjoy our moments together.

P.S. - I never would've thunk it could be this much fun. WOW!

P.P.S. - If you had a life you would not feel a need to live vicariously through mine. Just saying.

10 year dead thread resurrected, Ho hum....
Many or even most do not read entire posts so with that in mind I wrote in post #102...

"So we should burn old books because information gets old or goes bad? :)

Just funnin' not starting an argument."

Newbies aren't about to go through decades of posts or search in vain for what they may need to find about, then it follows that old thread "resurrection" serves a valid purpose. Maybe? :)

So true! so annoying when someone regurgitates a comment or opinion that was said several times already.

I see nothing wrong to reopen a old post with intent for updated info. I just did moments ago, a 15yo thread, while I was researching turret presses. If nobody answers no big deal. It's all research.

Just so you know I did read through the whole thread front to back before reviving it.

Definitely my bad, though I just could not help myself as I felt a strong urge to regurgitate the whole thing as elaborately as possible so others could read the complete story in one post. Kind of silly now that I think about it being they would have to read through them all to get to mine.

On the other subject I wonder why you would be considering the Redding 7 holer over say the Lyman 8 hole one? Seems as if the more holes the better it would be, or at least so to me.

It's kind of line "Magazine/Clip" debate to me! In WW II they had clips in the Garand that they carried and most of the WW II Vets I knew used the word - clip instead of magazine! .45 Colt/.45 Long Colt is much to do about nothing for me!

But, but, I shoot a five shot Linebaugh…. 🤔
Does that make it a .45-5?
Nomenclature is hard…..
