I've been loading a 250 gr lead hollow point from Hunter's Supply over 7.6 gr of Universal with good results. I need to experiment a little more with charge weight to see if I can improve it a little. So far the Bisley is liking it, the Redhawk not so much. But then I have a lot more trigger time on the Bisley than the Redhawk.

Nice old thread. I've been using 250 grain bullets for the .45 Colt. And as a side, 215 grain for my 41 Magnum. But the 45 Colt is just such a great caliber. It's interesting, the recoil isn't sharp, just a gentle whump in your hand. I guess recoil feels different from revolvers than a semi auto. But that's a topic for a different thread.

The 45 Colt also has the benefit of using many different powders. If I remember correctly, I've also loaded up some using HS-6, which is one of my more favorite powders.
