45-70 500gr.solids

Has anyone ever loaded 500gr.Barnes solids in the #1 45-70?
What speed /load /powder would you start with?

I like H4895 in my 458 win mag with anything over 400g. With Hornady 500g JRN I load right to the base of he bullet. I shoot these out of a Number 1.

I've shot slightly compressed loads but didn't feel the extra velocity was needed.

Saw some info that Barnes is no longer making the solids as ATF declared them armor piercing. Midway has 3 boxes of the Nosler 500gr solids in stock. $60+ for 20. Guess I'll have to warm up the lathe.

They have a PDF on their site about them appealing the ruling for all their solids except their .224.
