Were these offered in 102 prefix? Because I just picked one up but a search only revealed non and 100 prefix guns.

No. The 102-prefix .44's were 1975 - well AFTER the Sporter was discontinued.

Actually/incredibly, some buyers switched out the Sporter's finger groove stock for a different config, so some are consequentially on the open market from time to time.
Also, the Ruger Parts Dept also made the stocks available for awhile, back in the day.

Somebody might have installed one of those to upgrade a 102-prefix carbine.
