Howdy Folks,
First post here so I have a lot to learn about the forum's environment.

I tried the search function but didn't find an answer. Maybe someone here can help?

I am building a .44 Carbine and have no stock for it. Back in Jan. I found a Boyds laminated in Pepper, I believe on their website.

I looked again today and for the life of me: I cannot find any Boyds stock for a .44 Carbine.

What happened? Did they quit making/selling them?

I'm baffled. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will have trouble finding a wood stock for a Ruger 44 Carbine. They have been out of production for many years and I doubt even Boyds will have one in stock. Why don't you call them and see if their customer service can help you.

I think I found you one on E Bay

Folks here are the most helpful around anywhere.
Let us know how you like the stock and how your project goes. Many folks love those little Carbines. :D

I'll hang around.
Will post some progress pics, too.
But this is going to be painfully slow as I am starting with only a barreled receiver.

Thanks again, Jimbo!

Where did you end up finding the walnut stock? I was just looking at the 44 stocks on Boyd's website a few months back and now they are gone!
I showed him this ad on Ebay. Says there are still 2 left.

SemperFiHunter.

I had mine in to a gunsmith to replace a worn part maybe 10 years ago. He managed to winkle some parts out of contacts he made at Ruger during training there. He took the fixed carbine to the range and was so stunned by the accuracy that he tried to buy it from me. They can be very accurate.

Just in case yours does not group when the project is complete, there are a lot of things you can do to fix or improve that problem. Shoot me a PM with your snail mail address and I'll mail you a copy of an old Rifle magazine article on how to make the 44 mag carbine shoot.

Hello, I was looking through old posts on the Ruger 44 Carbine accuracy and saw where you had offered to send someone a copy of an old magazine article about accuracy improvements? I'm new to the forum so not sure if this the way to ask you? Thank you.
