Neighbor wants to sell a Ruger 44 Mag. Semi Automatic Carbine with tube magazine and scope mounted. Gun is in 95% shape and the serial number is:102-362XX.

Some of you guys have the history on this model and what it is worth?

Thanks for the help!

Per Ruger's website this serial number indicates a manufacture date of 1977.These are great carbines.I have one made in 1967.

bronco45, Around these parts, you very rarely see them for less than $400 in either, gun shops, pawn shops or gun shows although I saw one go for $250 late one Sunday afternoon at a gun show. Evidently the guy needed the money. It was in pristine condition also!......................Dick

Hey, you guys thanks for the help! I'm close to tapped out from a gunshow two weeks ago so he'll have to wait until after the first of the year.

The only problem with these carbines is that they are prone to wearing out the lifter parts and there is no factory or aftermarket support for them. Make sure it works correctly before you lay down the money.

I have the 99/44 Deerfield built more like the Mini 14/30 and I think its a better system, but the Deerslayers are very nice guns as long as they run right.
