When I picked up my Flat Top .44 Special, the dealer told me that after this run of .44s was finished, Ruger was going to make a batch of .41s on the same frame. As the chambers would be (slightly) smaller, there should be enough steel there to safely handle the .41 Magnum, and since the .41 has the same type of "cult" following as the Special (me included), it sounds logical. Anybody else heard mention of this?

I'm not sure about that one. It took Ruger a lot of years to finally produce a .44 Special flattop (first hinted at in 1955 right after the .357 Blackhawk came out). I.M.O., the popularity of a .41 Mag. flattop would be a small percentage of that for the .44 Special.
If Ruger does that for a distributor, then Ruger is really missing the boat for a NM 10" .357 flattop.

Dot6, wonder what the dealer would have said if you had asked him what his source of information was concerning the .41 Flat Top? Some dealers can be a great source of b.s.
