Here's my personal interpretation of The Ultimate Carry Semiauto and The Ultimate Carry Revolver, circa 1986: Homebuilt LW/Stainless Commander in .45ACP, and 3" S&W M66 in .357.
Notice that the two are nearly identical in overall length and overall height.
The Commander is quite a bit lighter, and thinner, too. Also holds two more rounds.
The Smith is (at least theoretically) more powerful with full loads. Also produces more recoil, and WAY more muzzle blast.
The Smith is harder to shoot DA with full loads. SA and with mild .38s, it's much easier to shoot than the Commander.
Both fit my hand about equally well.
Which do I like better? That's easy: I love them both.
