357 maximum load

I have Hornady 180gr xtp jhp and Alliant 2400 got any suggestions
I also have Sierra 170gr jhp's

I am also looking to pick up some IMR 4227

Welcome to the Forum!
Please understand, we follow factory reloading manuels as our guides. I have had excellent results from the IMR 4227 in a maxie myself. Just follow the manuel,, and work up a load that is accurate in your gun!

Cartridge O.A.L. can be adjusted to increase performance and accuracy.

tomfish, welcome. Was shooting my maxi today with the same bullet and 2400. My load came from either a lyman or speer book. SR primers and start at 12.5 grains. I shoot alot of 180gr. cast with gas check.

IMR 4247 seems to be the #1 powder.

I shoot the Hornady 180 HP-XTP with 18.0 grains of IMR 4227. Shoots excellent.

Yep. Swap the 2400 for some W296 or H-110.....JMO (I almost included LilGun but I feel the jury is still out)
