.357 Flat Top 10" bbl Eight Groove

When I sold my Ruger collection to buy my retirement rig (my signature pic) my son wound up with my Flat Top collection.
I still watch for him, and made a trade for him recently which got him this .357 Flat Top 10" barrel with eight grooves.
Really a nice gun. Pics aren't the best, as I just came from his home, and it was dark outside, so couldn't get real good picture.
I am very happy for him to add this fine example to his Flat Top collection.

That's nice! I wish my son liked Rugers but so far he seems to be drawn to old military rifles. He'll probably just have a yard sale when he gets my Rugers :roll:

Actually I was wrong. Double checked my notes and I'm up to 74 now. I think its just wierd that I can have almost 150% of the 10" 8-groove .357's ever made (24 more known than were supposed to have been made), yet only 10% to at most 20% noted of the SC4's, 10" .44's, 6-1/2" Super's, Factory engraved Single-Sixes, "S" Lightweights, brass frame 4-5/8" .41's (and 6-1/2" for that matter"), brass frame non-prefix Supers, and on and on and on.
Is something amiss here?? :roll:
My 10" 8-groove s/n list is from hands on collector reports....not heresay.

It even had a little "squiggle" of a letter stamped on the cylinder frame, in front of the trigger guard...... :shock:

Was your gun #37302 or 37320? If the former, then your gun and hdonlybob's gun have something relative to one another.

Yes, that's right, it was close.
I attribute it to the bragging factor. The more bells and whistles on a gun, the easier it is to show up in a collection somewhere of a happy Ruger collector.
10" flattops also have bragging factor, but 150% of the total made?? :roll:

Hey Chet, the grips on that 10 inch with the little "squiggle" look awfully familiar to the ones on 37320......which has came back HOME after an extended "VACATION" in the EAST side of RUGER COUNTRY......see ya RR.

Ah yes, SN 37302...........Nice revolver, came in a 10" 44 FT box with masking tape over the 44 and 357 hand written on the tape. Went to John DeB. about twnty years ago. Then to Flatgate. Then............? I bought it from underneath a setup table at the Tucson, Az. Sabbar Shrine Gun Show , one rainy Friday night. Yes, it had that "S" on the cylinder frame, ahead of the trigger guard! 8)
