I've managed to get 2 flat top 3 screw blackhawks.both are .357. One is 1971 and is converted, the other is a 1958 unconverted.

They seem pretty popular here. So I'm guessing the unconverted is more desirable.
Can the converted be put back original and if so where can I get the parts?

As properly noted by PRichardson87,, your 1971 gun isn't a Flattop.

And his advice is sound of you want to fully carry 6 rounds in the '71 gun.

But your question about restoring it to original condition is valid. Yes,, they are more desirable if they aren't converted. A set of parts will cost $125-$150 on average. And if I'm buying a gun that's been converted,, I deduct that amount as I study the asking price & the actual value. If the gun is worth $500,, and the asking price is $500,, I'd pass. But if the asking price is $300,, then I'd buy & get a set of parts to restore it.

And yes,, it's easy to restore it with a good set of proper parts. And hittman has mentioned,, put a WTB ad in the Classifieds here & you'll possibly get a seller.

Your 1958 is a flattop. Your 1971 is not due to the raised "ears" protecting the rear sight. I would definitely leave the FT unconverted. If you plan on carrying the 1971 in any capacity you may want to leave it converted in order to safely carry 6 rounds.
Dang...I thought the '71 was a flat top. I had to pull it out to Check. I think I need my eyes checked.

I think they quit making flattops 10 years before that one came out.
Then of course they brought them back in some New Models.
