I wouldn't be surprised if some of these so-called "cleanup" guns aren't "cleanup" at all. Have learned that with Ruger's new process of "cell" manufacturing, they can make small groups of just about anything on a whim (ala .41 flattop) without them taking the normal 60-90 days to get made.
The old style Vaquero's also...you know there have been about 4,000 "cleanup" guns of that series!!! Hard to believe they would still be cleaning those up after five years of being discontinued.
I can think of no other reason why Ruger is still making the 96/22 in .22 mag when it it hasn't even been cataloged for several years. Check out their website for dates of manufacture on that one...they go past 2009! Unless these are a distributor exclusive now.
You know, if it is profitable enough for Ruger to make a batch of something, why not do it....cataloged or not???
