I haven't bought a 3 screw in so long I have no idea what the prices should be. Local dealer has an unconverted 1973 Super Blackhawk in excellent condition for $750. Last one I bought was a mint first year example for $500 but $750 seems reasonable in the age of inflated prices.

Local here I frequently see them for $699, but they are not pristine…definitely show signs of use.

Right now there are several 3 screw .357 Blackhawks at the local pawn, for $599-$699. I seem to recall they were all 6 1/2" barrels…

Local shop had a Super with belt & holster 1972 for $600, bought it. Won a 1964 .357 for $450 with box and paperwork, couple of months ago. Both non converted and in great condition.

I sold my 3-screw 1970 6 1/2" 357 in very good condition locally for $800. It had a belt and holster and some ammo. I had owned it since 1972.
I'm 83 and it needed a new home.

Last week I bought a 69 vintage super with box 95-98% non converted and a 1970 4 5/8 45 colt no box 90% also unconverted paid 575 for each. He also had a 6.5" 357 I passed on for 475. For my money I'm buying an old model over a new every day. Even at 750 if condition is as you say id be in. Just look at the quality of that "old" super for 750 vs a new super for the same money. Buy the old model every day all day!

What is the conversion other than a parts swap?
Do they mark the gun or something?

I have my dads 72 SBH w Ruger brass frame (but didn't letter as leaving factory in that config).
Letter says it went to Gil Hebard and I think remember their catalogs selling brass frames separately.
Pops killed a lot of critters with it, and it shows. Grips shrank and had the safety conversion done way later.
I put the orig parts back in and found a NOS set of squished eagle grips.
Replaced all the old frame screws and put on a BRC steel shroud.

Might drag the old beater out and pop a deer with it this fall.

When they do the safety conversion, they stamp a small "R" on the under side of the main frame when they have the grip frame off. It's not visible when they reinstall the grip frame. :)

Ale-8(1), I don't think they stamp the bottom of the cylinder frame anymore. At least last year when I sent a old model 357 blackhawk in for a new cylinder they did the conversion and did not mark the cylinder frame bottom. That is the only experience I have had.
