Ok,question........
if a 3 screw has not been converted,it wont have a transfer bar and the hammer will have a firing pin?

They all have a frame mounted floating firing pin. Unconverted, with the hammer down, you will see the firing pin protruding through thr gap between the rear of the cylinder and the recoil shield. Converted you will not and yes it will have a safety transfer bar.

Approximately 23,000 Old Model .45 cal. Blackhawks were produced in the late 1970 through early 1973 era. The basic variations consist of barrel lengths and presence of an extra .45 Colt cylinder. As mentioned above, a brass grip frame model, sans .45 Colt cylinder was also made and production quantities were in the 550 to 600 range.

Production spanned a grip medallion change so either a black eagle or shiny silver eagle will be observed.

Uhh,, Flatgate,,,, that's a bit confusing,, as the OM 45 Colts were made with extra 45 ACP cylinders,, and the brassies were made SANS the 45 ACP cylinder.

But I figured I'd bait ya out to show off that pic with all those guns to assist in pushing freakindawgen over the edge.

Some of the variations of the OM 45 Colt are hard to find & considered rare to collect in VG to EX shape.

Huh? "a brass grip frame model, sans .45 Colt cylinder was also made and production quantities were in the 550 to 600 range. "

Well, make that 549 to 599 range still left. Dad sunk one of the 45 4 5/8" Brassies along with his tackle box in a local lake about 30 years ago. :(

Uh, Flatgate,, sans means "without." So read your original post; sans 45 COLT cylinder,, (I think you meant sans 45 ACP cylinder.) And you said "extra 45 Colt cylinder",, where you meant 45 ACP cylinder.
At least that's the way I understood it!
And yes,, the OM 45 Colt Brassies were a very short production numbered bunch,, as noted,, 550 to 600 guns.
