Greetings,

I have been trying to find some 22 LR load that will shoot decent groups in my SSS 9-1/2" convertible.

Years ago I used Federal Silhouette ammo, and it shot well. So far I have tried about a dozen different brands, and they are all poor to pathetic. Std velocity, high velocity, hyper velocity & even rifle or pistol match - nothing works.

Has anybody found anything that works well in the 22 Mag bore size? It does very well with WW 40 gr JHP but for economy I need to find a tolerable 22 LR.

TIA

I use cheap brick ammo in all of my Single-Sixes with excellent results.

I modify the ammo via Paco's Accurizer.

Thanks for the tip. Have you ever tried resized ammo against out-of-the-box to see how much difference there is?

I am beginning to think that my gun is the exception - everybody else I have talked to has gotten good results from LR ammo. Perhaps my bore is at the upper end of the diameter range, but it sure loves the WW JHP ammo. It sounds like I need to slug it & see what I really have.

Have a good one.
