Which cartridge are you referring to? 41 Magnum????? Cartridge overall length can vary from one bullet design to another even with two of the same weight bullets due to differences in the crimping groove.

my Lyman 46th lists the 410610 at 1.575" but if it`s a "generic" commercial bullet ya gotta go with the groove !!

Start at the beginning & work ya way up.

Yes each bullet design varies and the determining factor is chamber length as to whether or not it will work in your gun. Just crimp one after seating 90% of the crimping groove inside the case and make sure it fits your chamber. Usually the only reason a given bullet may be too long in a revolver is if it is actually a bullet intended for a different cartridge that happens to be the same caliber.

Start load 7.0g Unique; sized case; CCI300; medium-'firm' crimp using the superior Redding Profile Crimp die.

Yep, I would start with 7.0gr and work up to not more than 9.0gr and see what worked good for accuracy and no leading of the barrel.

I have used Space Coast Bullets in 357mag.

You really only have two options-the crimp groove or the frontedge of the front band. Due to the many different styles and lengths of front profiles of lead bullets the COL/OAL is almost a nonissue. Unless using a really hot load, that small difference won't be a problem.
