I was just bored today and got out some very fine sandpaper and took the black finish off and polished it with crocus cloth.

Do you think it will rust without the finish? On another note was shooting it the other day and amazed how easy it was to clean, gun powder came right off.

I don't think it will rust since it is stainless. I saw a new short barrel smith and wesson 44 magnum at a gun show recently and it was all black except the cylinder and trigger and I thought it looked nice.
