Today at the show, I picked up a 1B 257 Roberts. It was presented to be a Safari Clubs International commemorative of sorts. On the right side of the barrel it has "1998 Ruger/SCI 1 of 30". SN, 133-489xx. I don't see this in any of my reference material. Anyone here know of this piece?? :?

Dave: Haqve never seen or heard of one but as I don't travel in those circles that doesn't surprise me.

For a 133 serial number 257 Roberts, good grab. Now take it out an KILL something!!! ;-)

Some time ago one of Ruger's distributors got a few M77 Mark II Magnum rifles in that were used as "acceptance" models for SCI. None of the "concept" rifles were accepted, but the barrel markings were reportedly similar...like "1 of 30" or "1 of 1" etc. Was told that even though it may say "1 of 30" on it, there was probably only one made like it....again, these were just used for "testers" to SCI.
Would not surprise me if Ruger did a few in the #1 as well, but this is the first I've heard of.
