1964 Ruger 10/22 all original - Value ?

Was wondering if some members might have a ball park value on a 10/22
Ruger, all original, very good condition.

Bought new in 1964, probably less than 300 rounds shot through it.
Has had a Tasco 4X scope mounted since new.

WOW! 1964. That makes it a first year production rifle with a serial # in the 1 to 400 something range.
Is it the carbine model? Barrel band, I assume. Not sure if the "Finger Groove" stocks were out yet.
Lots of interest in the very early 10/22 and should bring a nice price.
Hate to speculate on what it could be worth but I know I would give a bunch for a first year!

I bought a NIB 1968 10/22 about a year ago and paid $350. No scope. Maybe this will give you an idea. With the scope I would guess yours $300-$400 depending on condition.

It is a 21XXX with a barrel band, but the stock is just plain.
The Tasco scope being of the same era is I believe a Japanese made model, still very clear and bright.

Couldn't exactly remember what year I bought it.

The Manual said 1964, so that is what I was going by.

21XXX = 1966. Hmmm... I believe that there may be some question as to the accuracy of Ruger's website table, since I have the 10/22 I gave my father for Christmas 1965 S/n 43XXX. Sales slip is still in the box. 12/24/65!

#463 or close to it was the first serial number shipped in 65. Ruger did not ship serial numbers in order for the most part. There was over 15000 guns shipped in 64. I have 10/22 serial number 89066 and that was shipped in Sept. 64! But it was a special gun made to match a 44 Carbine # of the same time frame.

Don't forget though, that #89066 was accidentally numbered within the .44 Carbine sequence (somebody thought they were numbering .44 Carbine actions), even though only about 16,000 guns were serial numbered in 1964 (including the #89000 to 90146 duplicates).

Some of these guys are dreaming, I just paid $650 for a 1966, it turned out to be not NIB, so the guy took $150 off, still $500 just my oppinion, but a 1964 excellent with box would help, but should bring $750 plus on GB. Afterall, the mags are $800 up they arn't making an 1964's either. Heck, the scope will bring $100 on e-bay!!!

I agree with Tunni. $250 ? 300? Have you guys looked at prices lately?
If its nice, my guess would be north of $500.

I have seen them down here in the $200-300 area.
