I picked up this shooter mainly for the one piece box, for my type IX. It was so inexpensive that I had no idea the gun, box, and manual were original to each other. So guess I'll keep them all together. Pistol should clean up nicely. Can't wait to shoot it.

It does, and the flat is at the top on this one.
Your bolt is a 2 piece bolt, and the ears are showing early signs of separation. You might consider setting that bolt aside and using a takeoff mk4 bolt. Volquartsen sells these takeoff bolts fairly cheap these days.

Very nice, I have my Dads with the 6" barrel, same vintage. He bought it when he was in the Navy in the mid 1950's, paid around $27 is for it new.

Since it would require no additional modifications, you might want to consider getting a Standard/MKI bolt off eBay. I see them there most of the time. In any case, +1 for watching the two piece bolt.
