We really need name tags at this thing... seems like I kind of supplied them a few years back... I recognize everyone but can't for the life of me retain most of you guys and galls names, both forum and real world.

I've got a box of give away items for this year and some are quite collectable, at least I think they are.
Great idea. I, like you, was at the first Gathering and I still don't know some of the 'real' names.

Well, our plans have changed. We decided to have our house painted and the deck re-stained. Plus, wifey needs back surgery and can't do much traveling. So, our vacation plans come sort of last. I, too, enjoy the pics and Blume's drone videos. I guess that will have to do. It is quite a jaunt from South Dakota. Perhaps next year.

Booked in at the Holiday Inn Express in Forest City. Not bad rates (retired service), $242.72 for two people for two days. Looks as though it will just be my son and I. Grandsons are both 'unavailable' for that weekend

I really wanted to try and make it even with all my health problems but my wife is having back surgery on September 26 then off to rehab for a few weeks so definitely a no show once again. If I can get Gramps to drive over to my place I will send some goodie's with him for anyone that wants it.

Jackie and I are all set for our annual southern sojourn. First a couple days in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and then the great drive over/through the mountains to the Gathering. We're also going to stay in Forest City at the Quality Inn.

Not sure what I'm bringing to shoot/share but I will be bringing my "new" (to me) Kimber 9mm 1911 and my Max 9 (to sight in).

It'll be good to see whoever is able to make it.

I'm driving through Birmingham, AL on my way over. There is a restaurant in Birmingham owned by Rodney Scott. He won the James Beard award for best BBQ. It truly is amazing.

Anyway, I looked into hotels in Sevierville and man, they aren't cheap. It's funny, for some reason they are more expensive that Thursday night than on the way home Sunday night.

So on the way there, I'm going to Cherokee NC and then on the way home I'm staying in Pigeon Forge. This way I get to drive through The Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Sunday. What a beautiful drive. I'll have time to stop and take some pictures.

I have made my plans to come this year. I will be down for Friday night's get-together and Saturday's session. I'm not sure what guns to bring but I'm sure some 32's will be in the mix. I will be sure to bring enough ammo so that anyone that wants to shoot something I have can have a turn. I've missed them all up until now but life is too short to keep on finding reasons or excuses to not get my butt down there.

Contender, hey how's the weather looking? I use the Weather Bug app, and it looks like rain next week but then clear on Saturday.

Think that's accurate?

I'd just read the news and they are talking about a big storm over on the NC coast. But I know you're a long way from there.

Right now, it's too early to tell for sure about the weather.
Just last night, our local voo-doo guy that calls himself a weatherman, said that we have a chance of showers during the week. At most, a 40% chance Tuesday through Thursday. Scattered around our region.

The storm on the coast shouldn't affect us at all. We have a USPSA match tomorrow, and nobody's worried.

See you next weekend!

Well guys and gals it looks like I won't make it after all. Had a little bout with the ER last week and the urinary parts are not working as designed, Just had the catheter removed yesterday and now it is 'touch and go' to see if the problem reappears. Don't want to be either halfway there or half way back if it should reappear. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. My son Will was looking forward to attending for the first time and he too is disappointed but understanding. I wish you all great weather, great companionship, lots of shooting (both guns and bull), good food and health. I had a drone that I had planned to do a little high altitude photo work with and that won't occur either.

Frank, well that's not any fun! Sorry to hear about your health problems. I was looking forward to seeing you again.

I'm going to get all my stuff together this weekend. I don't think I'm going to bring all that many guns. I don't want to leave them in my truck overnight at the hotels, and don't want to lug all that much weight back and forth from truck to hotel room. It's a dilemma.
