I've had 4 vehicle batteries fail in the past few weeks. Flying in something that runs on batteries is NOT in my future.

Well, I'm right at max pilot weight, but IF I had the cash I'd loose the weight. I did note they were flying it over an uninhabited area. I suspect they aren't allowed over populated areas. Still, even at only 20 minutes flying time (about the same as for some drones) it would be a hoot. In fact it really is nothing more that a drone with the pilot on board instead of at a controller.

I don't know about learning to fly it in five minutes. I still crash my drone and I'm on my third. In all fairness one did loose power and end up in the Pacific.

We have a new sideline in the works for this summer/fall. It involves a large drone capable of lifting 250+ pounds. I'm only 'ground crew' qualified but it will be interesting. We've used small (5 pounds) drones for crop scouting and infrared imaging in the past. I'm not sure what this 'big boy' drone cost but the others seem to think there's profit in the ownership.

I wouldn't buy that thing for fun nor anything else. Just not my thing. I'll stick to 4 wheels, 600+ Hp and very close to 200mph.

Back before I retired, and before COVID WFH, I wanted something like that for commuting to/from work 7 miles away. It could have reduced my 10 minute drive to a 6 minute flight. Plus a 3 minute pre-flight check. At least on the 20 or so days per year that the weather forecast was warm enough and clear all day. And as long as I didn't have to go into town for groceries & such.

I wonder if Brandon would give you an EV tax credit on it...

Seems items like this are advertised every once in a while but somehow never seem to actually appear. I wonder how many "flying cars" and the like have been promoted, possibly attracted a ton of money in "deposits" and then never heard from again. When a dealership opens down the street, with several models ready for sale on the showroom floor, then I might want to try one out.

About 45 years ago the wife and I were in a town in the Napa Valley called Saint Helena. There was a place there called The Car Barn that had some antique car and other automobile related stuff. The thing I will always remember was a airplane hanging from the celing. The main reason I remember it is because it had a Ford model A engine in it. NO THANK YOU.

IF i was(a LOT) younger and had that money to spend, I'd maybe buy stock in the company and let others crash while I get rich.
These vehicles WILL become the norm one day, and it could be very profitable in years to come.
Just my opinion.
