I've always had a curiosity regarding the 10mm auto cartridge. This weekend, I had the opportunity to pick up a S&W 1006 pistol. With a box, extra grips, and 5 magazines for $580, I figured why not give it a try.... :D

Dave :)

I've always considered getting into the 10mm, probably with a Glock 20SF first (I've shot one and DixieBoy is right, they are surprisingly easy-shooting), then a Delta Elite, but I don't know if I could survive the heartbreak of losing a piece of brass at the range

I had a 1076 FBI model, it was my every day carry as it was the same size as a 1911 Commander size, held 10 rounds of 10mm. I liked the 165gr Doubletap ammo real well in it.
I would grab another one in a heartbeat, I had sent mine back to S&W Performance for a tuneup and when it came back it really shot good. I sold mine to the KC Cabelas for $675

if you decide you dont want it i will give you your money back!!!

it would make the salt to my pepper... a model 915! :D

I had a 10MM in a Witness compact.....I decided that it was a bit much in a compact semi auto, so I got a .40S&W barrel and a couple of 40 magazines and now I am quite happy with it.

I later sold the 10MM bbl and magazines for about what it cost me to convert it to 40.

I also have a Buckeye Special 10MM/38-40 and in the Blackhawk, the 10MM is capable of approaching the .41 Mg. ballistically. 8)

I thought about grabbing the one in my local gun store couple days ago. Only problem is it was more than double the price you paid, or it would have come home with me.

Let me give you new 10mm guys a big tip. Get you a Ruger Buckeye Special in the 38-40/10mm conversion and you will have a much larger respect for the 10mm. If you reload you will not believe what the 38-40 will do when turned up.
