Rodbuster416 from this forum, was up North this week, so we met at my gun club for a little shooting.

I bought a 10/22 Takedown a while back, and have never shot it. Figured tonight would be a good time. Coincidentally, Rodbuster416 brought his 10/22 Takedown, also unfired.

He scoped his, and so far, I've decided to stick with the iron sights.

Cut to the chase...Both of these little rifles shoot every bit as accurately, and every bit as flawlessly, as any 10/22 I've ever shot.

I am pleased.

WAYNO.

I really wanted to pick one of these up...but, with my not being able to locate a somewhat steady supply of .22lr ammo at a halfway decent price so far this year...sadly, it would just sit in my safe with the other .22lr's that I would love to shoot, but can't!

They are good rifles! I bought one and had a trigger job done and bolt face squared up. Mounted a Leupold 4x matte and it shoots like a million bucks. I own many 10/22's and this one is certainly a keeper for sure!!

Wayno,
Thanks again for inviting this cityslicker to the range. Had a great time for sure with the Takedowns!
I still need more practice with the S&W 63. Might look to see if there's a white outline rear blade for that size.
Hopefully Dave can make it out next time too.
Had so much fun last time with you guys PC Carbines that I bought a Rock River AR-9!
I saw that Dave also picked up a CZ P-01 last time after shooting mine.
Good times!

Thanks again, Ray

Ray, sorry I missed you this trip....... I am approaching retirement, but my employer is hell bent on squeezing every bit of labor out of me he can get. :( Next time you are here, I should be retired. :D Take care.
Dave

You are very welcome. Give me a jingle any time you're up North and I'll see if I can rub any more of my bad habits off on you.

I'll say again, that little model 63 of yours is a great shooter.

WAYNO.

Another firm believer in the TD!
Had mine threaded for a suppressor. It still has nice balance with the Gemtech Alpine, suppressor. Will be real fun when I can get it to an outdoor range. (Waiting on the tax stamp, so can only use the dealers indoor range).

Lateck,

I've got a TD model and a regular blued with a synthetic stock and i like them both one has a Simmons and the other has a Bushnell banner series.3x9 40's The Takedown i love it but i noticed that putting on and taking it off to put back in the bag the scopes rings don't tighten as they first did and sometimes the loosen up after shooting for a time..I notice this when the accuracy drops off. I need to buy a scope that can be mounted and not taken off and will fit in the bag.Don't ask about using the iron sights those days are long gone as with my sight.

Looked at a TD @ the LGS yesterday. Very tempted. Would install a Skinner barrel mount peep if I purchase one.

ETA: The photos of the bag that comes with the TD looks as if you could fit 2 or 3 TD's in it. Is it as large as it looks?

And does it have a spare pocket where one could stash an LCR 22?

I usually use the bottom pouch for my BX25's they have slots built in for them an the top pouch i used to carry my SR22. and theres some room i carried my Sub 2000 in there.

I've mounted a Nikon P-223 on my take down. It fits the large pouch...snugly, but fits.

Carry a sock full of OEM 10-round mags next to the barrel in the small pouch.
Carry 3 BX25 mags in each external pouch.

Got enough on board to make it through a whole Steel Challenge match without any other bags.....except the coffee jug.....

Glad you guys had some fun with the Take Downs. They seem like a fine little rifle to me.

I want to get over and shoot with you guys one of these days..........

Hey Hutch, if you do, bring that sweet 45 Colt Blackhawk so I can get a better look at it and maybe give it a test drive..........
