Just in from a fellow forum member up north:

RENE says "probably not more than 20,000 made" s/n range 43908 to 198467. This one is 653xx. I know it may not mean much to some folks but I'm tickled pink to have a 1966 vintage 10/22. Third year of production is pretty early and I wasn't very old then myself. Honestly, the gun looks better in person.

Thanks Scott .......

Looks to be a "period correct" Weaver scope already mounted that's clear as a bell too!

Man that was a nice one, But I have alot of them, im happy it went to a good guy, yep! 1966, first year of the "Sporter" Finger groove!!!!

I feel like a give it away, after getting the shipping bill!!!!!........LOL

Nice. My first 10/22 I bought new in the 70s. Still have it. My latest is one of the new takedown models. Love the little guys.

Can anyone tell me what ammo to shoot to get a good group at 50 yrds? I used cci v 1710 , Aquilla, and cci 1200. Iget groups inside a tennis ball. I have a3x9 bushnell on it. Fell like it do better. All were sandbagged. Any info would be very helpful.

Mine is the same configuration. If it shoots as nice as mine, you're going to treasure it. I think it is the nicest stock used on a 10/22. They should put it back into production. Ed
