Tons of aftermarket items you can add or alter. You can easily spend more than the purchase price, so I'd shoot it first and then see what you want to do.
Lots of great pics and info here and on RimfireCentral.com as well.

First up grades I typically do are to replace the scope mount with something like a EGW Picatinny Scope Mount. And then upgrade the trigger with a good trigger kit or replacement trigger group. If you're comfortable doing your own work, the Volquartsen HP Action Kit is my go to.

thanks for the welcomes. have put about 200 rounds through the new 10/22, works perfectly. i forgot how much fun a .22 rifle is. i carry my lcp max at all times, my sr9c occasionally but costs being what they are these days the .22 is much easier to manage for range time. the rifle came with a veridian factory mounted scope and that is really pretty neat. will get out to shoot outdoors as soon as the temps get back below 90. soon i hope, these 110 days are getting old.

One of my favorite Rugers for sure. I've got a few, but not nearly as many as some people here. One of the things I do is replace the bolt buffer with an upgraded poly. Just seem to make it run smoother. I also love the stainless and walnut stocked guns. One of the first things to buy with that coupon in the box is to get you a couple of extra magazines.

Congratulations! The 10/22 is one of two of my all time favorite .22 firearms.
