Doesn't Ruger stamp a D in with the s/n to indicate it's a duplicate?

One of Ruger's distributor's would be first on getting unusual stuff from Ruger and I know he did his best to keep a "D" gun of every different 10/22 model that would roll through his distributorship. Not sure what happened to that pile, but the person retired from the business a few years ago.
