ok, 10/22 experts: how many different models of the 10/22 international did ruger produce. I have seen ss/black laminate and blue/wood. where there any 'deluxe' versions made(with cut checking?)?

never had an interest in the rsi/international until I purchased a 308 RSI tang safety and really like it.
next stop is the RENE reference, when it arrives.

thanks

Going strictly on memory...

The older ones were made with walnut/blued steel and available with both checkered and non-checkered models. Newer (90's) ones were available with hardwood uncheckered and then the black laminate ones both of which were done in blued steel and stainless.

I'd love to see them do a new version with Circassian walnut!

I would too!!! But...until Ruger starts putting on a decent blue again I think it is a waste of a good stock with the current finishes.

The last batch were a birch stock that was checkered both blued and stainless. Cabelas sold the last ones Ruger produced and they were stainless birch checkered stock. I have two in the safe NIB.As far as I know the only walnut ones were the original which had a butt plate not a pad. I have never seen a walnut stocked version with a butt pad. Previous to the last run they offered both blued and stainless again birch stock but not checkered.

When the first of the new 10/22 Internationals came out in 1994 in both blue and stainless, Ruger wasn't putting any checkering on them. Didn't take long for the public to start yelping about such a "deluxe" model without checkering. So really, the checkered birch stock internationals in blue and stainless are the most common.
None of the laminated stock 10/22 Internationals were checkered.

This is a WalMart special that I bought sometime in the late 90s.
