Hey guys, new to this forum. I am looking for a bi.pod for my recently purchased 10.22 tactical. I would like to get one which installs on the removable ring at the end of the stock (as seen in this picture). What are my options for a bi-pod?

Anything else I should do to the gun (trigger work) etc that you guys reccommend?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks for your time guys

I bought this one from ShopRuger.com, it works good. It mounts to the sling stud and comes on and off easily. I keep mine in my range box and have used it on many different rifles. Welcome to the forum. Ed

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!
I have a Harris 9-13" bipod that hooks to the sling swivel [I installed an extra one just in front of the stock sling swivel just for this ] and it works great I also use it on my M1A,M-4 and other rifles .My 10/22 has taken many a groundhog, possum, and other varmints off that bipod .

Thanks for the replies guys!! Do you have pictures of these each mounted? How hard is it to mount a swivel screw into a synthetic stock?

Thanks Again

Here is the best picture I have of it mounted.

No experience with your exact stock, but if the plastic is thick enough you use the stud with the wood screw, if it is thin you use the one with the machine threads and nut.

You have a tactical stock, it may have a picatinny rail, you can get a bypod that will just click on.

Here is a link to harris, that shows their bypod and the picatinny rail adapter. There are others that go onto the rail, that act as a forward grip and the bypod pops out of the bottom.

Thank you Eveled! That answers exactly what I was looking for. That's what I was trying to determine in the original post, a bipod for the small detachable ring in the front of the stock.

Here is my gun, the ring is evident on the front. I was told by the dealer I would be able to buy a bi-pod that simply bolt where that ring is mounted.

Does Harris sell this? Is this what you are talking about?

thanks again

I'm not sure from the picture, if it has a sling swivel stud, you use the one like on my rifle in the picture. You definitely do not have a picatinny rail so that is not an option.

The "ring" you refer to is the "barrel band".... if you are talking about the part that goes around the barrel and forearm. It's always good to use correct nomencalture, so everyone is on the same page.
