I finally chronographed my 1.40" 41 Magnum today.

Five_Shot_41_1.jpg

NOTE - THESE LOADS ARE TOTALLY UNSAFE IN 6-SHOT CONVERSIONS. THE BELOW WERE FIRED IN MY CUSTOM 5-SHOT CYLINDER.

Both of these should be considered max and run 50,000 PSI chamber pressure minimum:

230 gr Keith, 26.0 grains of H110 = 1,668 fps
295 gr SSK, 21.5 grains of H110 = 1,455 fps

Temp = 42 degrees. Velocity is the average of three, 5-shot sessions.

Wow, Lee, that 295 blows the doors off of my hot .44 mags!!!!!

........and, what's that white stuff in your image? :D

flatgate - been shoveling lots of that stuff today

Carl....ya, the 295 load was pretty stiff (a little more compressed than I like, but they extracted with ease).

As for the snow, we had 18" a few weeks ago when I snapped this picture. Big snow for us, but common place for you guys out west.

Geez, Lee. Gorgeous gun. Those loads would make for fine 200 yard antelope or mule deer medicine out this way.
