Here's a nice clean Winchester mod # 71 in 348. only cal it came in. above average condition. made from 1935 thru 1957. built on the 1886 frame. this is a later gun. wood and metal are above average. I believe this ones late 1940s. has time period correct Lyman peepsight. just a fantastic rifle. $2550 shipped or trade for early Ruger carbine 1022s orr 44s. cash if needed on my end. more photos to your phone if needed........ Very nice. Ammo is hard to find.
I have taken several elk with mine.
I bought mine from an outfitter that used it as a backup rifle on bear hunts.

I have my dad's, it was his bear rifle, deer rifle, even saw him bark a squirrel off a tree a few times with it, although usually wasn't much left but 4 legs and some back skin holding them together. Shot a buck with it one time and it knocked it 360 degrees in its tracks. At one time these were one of the 3 guns American Rifleman recommended for elephant hunting. Not much this gun can't take down. Threespears is right, ammo is hard to find these days.
