LMAORedneck lanyard.
That would truly be unique!!!Probably some new-age 1911 type figgered it would give him "faster lock time" and thus "more accuracy."
Hey, it could be worse. He coulda gone all the way and "skeletonized" it.![]()

Good adjective. Note that "unique" does not mean "cool" or "good looking" or "a great idea."That would truly be unique!!!
It's been done...Good adjective. Note that "unique" does not mean "cool" or "good looking" or "a great idea."
Actually, come to think of it, I'm a little amazed that somebody, somewhere, hasn't fully "skeletonized" a single action revolver's hammer. Maybe someone has, and I just haven't seen it. (Not that I WANT to.)![]()
I figured we would get an answerYes, it was to improve lock time on customized single action revolvers. This mod was usually done along with other accuracy mods back when metallic silhouette was popular.
That would have been illegal in IHMSA.Yes, it was to improve lock time on customized single action revolvers. This mod was usually done along with other accuracy mods back when metallic silhouette was popular.
Depends on what Class you were rocking. That would have been illegal in IHMSA.
Limits??? Who wants those??? You are your LIMIT!!!That would make it unlimited. I shot long before they bahstidized the rules adding scopes and all kinds of aftermarket parts in the production class.
Hear hear! That's the way REAL MEN shoot, My Brother!Shooting standing iron sight and find your limits.
Not bad! Run a lanyard through it and over your neck and pull it with the other hand. I've heard of guys who dry-fire 1911 and Browning P-35s that way.Guy without a thumb, who needed a way to cock it?

I like the way you think, my friend!Half wonder if you could loop the cord around your bicep, and cock the hammer by tilting the muzzle down with your wrist?

Yeah that too. I was usually running when doing that. Now I amble as fast as I can manage. IPSC and IDPA are about as exciting as shooting sports get. I need to rebuild my dueling trees and get one of those Texas star things to play with in the yard I really prefer the dueling trees because I don't have to bend over and pick them up.Hear hear! Maybe, but not in my case. I just like a wider hammer. I'm an old S&W guy and like their wide target hammer. So If I understand this right, people put SBH hammers on regular Blackhawks so it is easier to cock the hammer because it's lower ?
