I went to the Fargo Scheels years ago on a business trip.... that place is awesome...!!!!

It was in Feb also....and the coldest I Had Ever been in my life.....

Must be beautiful there in July& August

Did you take a ride on the indoor Ferris wheel? Cool store, but as with all Scheels a bit pricey.

I used to pay $75.00/5000
I still have them

Back in 2018-2019, before everyone in the country suddenly remembered they needed primers, I used to get 'secondhand' primers at a local gunshop for a penny apiece ($50.00/5000). I've gone through a lot of those in the last couple of years, and buy a few more whenever I find 'em at a decent price. Same with ammo - buying a little bit every month is easier on a limited budget than a one-time, multi-hundred-dollar internet purchase!

As always, IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc., etc.

Schools is a good store to frequent...prices can be good in sales. I recently bought @American made it km for 9.99 A box out the door11000 primers for average of 72 dollars per 1000. As far as Fargo...it might be beautiful in July or August...but not both

Hopefully the prices will come down at some point. To paraphrase a football analogy, I've out-powdered my primer coverage. Have a lifetime supply of powder, but about 15-17,000 primers short of what I need for that amount of powder.

Looks like prices in Dallas are similar. I'm paying $80/k for small pistol, small rifle etc. actually I think all the primers are the same price. Large or small. And regardless of the store.

Although I got some match grade small rifle primers recently and paid a bit more for them.

Just bought 1000 (brick) large mag pistol CCI at N. Calif Sportsman's Warehouse for $70. That is up $1.50 p/box (100) when they were limiting to 2-boxes of 100 just a couple of months ago. At least they were selling a brick (K) now.

For today's average price, you did good.

In Kansas, the going price is $90 and up depending on what it is. We have a Scheels and Cabelas 70 miles away and they had lots of primers. Locally, at a friend's shop, he has CCI, Remington and Federals along with Fiochi and other foreign brands. There seems to be plenty of supply and some on line stores have been having "sales." If you can call them that.

Some of Scheels' stuff is pricey (eg their loaded ammo and primers). But I've found some good deals on reloading supplies. I load for 300PRC and found Lapua brass for $150 and 250 gr A-tips for $70!
Their high prices are comparable to Cabelas, but overall stuff is cheaper at Scheels in my experience.
I believe they had CCI rifle primers for $90/1000 when I was there last.

My prediction is that the primer bubble is going to burst before long (politics could change this trajectory though). Almost everyone has primers now and even a few sales. I think most of the hoarders (and everyone else) are getting tired of paying $90-110/1000; all the while supplies increase. Let's hope I'm right.

I just checked online sources , midsouth at $94. /1000 cci and Natchezz at $99./1000 . So even though they are much more available than they have been for several years, prices are not coming down . I read reloading forum posts of guys waiting for "fire" sales . I really don't see that happening.

American Reloading has foreign brands consistently in stock for 60-odd dollars per thousand provided you buy a sleeve, including hazmat and shipping. They are out of CCIs at the moment but they have been in the high 70 dollar range.

When you consider travel time and fuel costs, I'm not surprised nobody's tripping over themselves to buy somebody's 75$/k primers that are 10+ years old.
