I promised a couple more shots of my recently acquired plum 1965 Single Six. It looks great in the sun. And, the more I look at it- I doubt it has more than a few cylinders worth of ammo through it.

Don't worry about that. She's one of my favorites. Right up there with the 1968 .44 Super I bought from WMG. I've gotten to the point that I really enjoy collecting these older Single Sixes. And I also have pretty much decided they all future Rugers I buy will be 3 screw. Y'all showed me the light…Wow, that is just flat GREAT looking. Be careful though, there are a good number of collectors out there that will try to talk you out of it.
As you can see some do some don't. The mystery of RugersWhy do some turn plum quicker than others?
That's a beauty! I really love the plum look. Those grips look great too! Here is a "plum" Single Six that I bought used in 1972 at a gunshop in Atlanta. Price, out the door, was the princely sum of $65 including tax! A previous owner had added the stag grips and the adjustable Micro sights. A picture:
That was in direct sunlight. But even under indoor lights it's the most vivid color I've ever seen-THAT is about the reddest frame I have seen in some 68 years!
