Welcome from Arizona
Thank you! I joined up because I've obviously got an interest in Ruger firearms, both from a collector interest but also shoot a few of them! I've also got a pretty good sized memorabilia collection…not much in the way of the new Ruger items, but the older Sturm Ruger stuff. I hope to learn more about different Ruger firearms and perhaps get the opportunity to buy a few!!
It's good to see a few members here from Vt and the North East!

First, thank you guys for welcoming me to the Forum! I'm pretty psyched about learning more about my favorite firearms manufacturer and hopefully I can occasionally throw in my two cents on a topic or two…of course I'm always keeping my eyes open for a possible purchase! (Unfortunately I had to liquidate essentially my entire Ruger collection following an automobile accident that almost took my step daughter's life and has left her with a TBI and wheelchair bound…But thanks to God's good graces she's still with us)…
Most of my previous collection (primarily NIB flat bolt M-77s in rare/scarce calibres), was built little by little courtesy of Terry Wolosek). I hold Terry in very high regard. He taught me a lot about the finer points and often overlooked nuances of Rugers in general, an education that continues to serve me well especially during this "rebuilding" period of collecting!

Secondly, Weaslemeatgravy, my name is Jeff Goddard and up until 2019 I lived right in Barre Town Vermont. (Got divorced and moved a few miles up the road to Northfield…)
I used to work the Barre Gun Show running tables for Henry Parro. I definitely know you…we've either met in person there at the gun show…where I could be confused but thought you also worked for a dealer that shared the large area Henry and his buddy from RI shared?

Either way, I distinctly recall us discussing, among other Ruger related collectibles, Alex Sturm's 2 books…I think back then I was still searching for one or the other of them, and am pretty sure that you had at least a couple of copies of them…? This would have been around the very late '90s…perhaps right into the early 2000s??
Hopefully that jogs your memory…It would be awesome to reconnect and catch up!!
Also (I hope this doesn't violate the Forum's protocol…you can call or text me at 802.917.3687).

So again I'm psyched to get back into the action, definitely looking for collector quality firearms (I have no problem being contacted directly via text), and even vintage memorabilia, and hope to hear back you WMG!

I haven't been to the Barre gun show in a few years. I thought about going this year since my son lives up that way in Orange but he was out of town that weekend. I certainly know Henry, but I haven't seen him for a few years either. I used to live in Waterbury Center and that is probably the time period when we crossed paths, I was up there 1999-2003, moved here in late 2003. I have been up there a few times in recent years and saw Henry's amazing new enormous shop and range but haven't been inside since it was either closed or I was in a hurry to get somewhere. I never worked for a dealer (at least for wages) but I used to do miscellaneous internet ad work for Jim D. in exchange for free transfers. Then ATF decided that I'd better get my own FFL and stop cluttering up Jim's books with all my Rugers. I do have a few extra Rugers that need to be rehomed.

I'd be very interested to see what you have available! I'm in the process of rebuilding my collection. Please feel free to contact me directly…JD

Welcome from Addison County ... what part of the state are you in?
I'm originally from Mendon, just up Rt.4 from Rutland. Raised my right hand for Uncle Sam in '77 and stayed in for 23 years. My last assignment was Senior Mil. Science Instructor at Norwich U. in Northfield…so to finally answer your question 🤣 I live here in Northfield.
